J-FEST ’13 – THE BEST
Monday, September 23rd, 2013JESUSFEST 2013 (ROCK & ROLL HARDEE’S SPRINGFIELD, IL
IN HONOR OF JESUS CHRIST AND BREAST CANCER MONTH (OCTOBER)
One of the major goals I have in bringing these free outdoor Christian concerts to various parts of the city and the county in coming months and years is to bring the joyful news of the Kingdom to areas given up by the church, to worldly systems. The first one, though too long by a few hours, happened in Auburn, Illinois in October 2011. JesusFest 2 was at the brand new SouthWinds Park (just on the outskirts of town) in October 2012 and the recently concluded JesusFest 3 brought the powerful message of Jesus to the South East Laketown area of Springfield.Future spots being explored are Petersburg, Rochester, Chatham and other parts of this big city of Springfield. The rubber meets the road…on the road. We can expound and pontificate from a pulpit on Sunday morning, feel good about ourselves and there is nothing wrong with any of this. However the Great Commission from the Great Christ was to “GO AND MAKE”, not sit and take. Evangelism and outreach are not just two words which begin with vowels, but the burden of every soul (or should be) who has been called out of the pit by the Great Rescuer – Jesus, when He saved us. This event went so well, that even the regional management of Hardee’s was impressed by the size and tone of this outreach, under the most perfect sky of the month!
So many hearts were touched, we were invited to do an event there monthly. If I had the resources and could, I would do that, just to reach that part of the city which has the biggest strip-club between Chicago and St. Louis – Deja Vu! God alone knows how many people’s lives – from marriages to the young women who peddle their flesh there – have been completely destroyed by this so-called “gentleman’s club”. No real gentleman will be caught dead in a place like that – EVER!A LIFE WELL LIVED – PARTS 3 & 4
Thursday, August 1st, 2013Wisdom is the best friend you will ever have in this life- Godly wisdom, that is. Every decision, choice and more, comes out of process where at least some measure of wisdom has been applied to the decision. It all goes back to your Perception (as we saw in Part 2). Your perception is your worldview, and hopefully – for your own sake – it is a Biblical worldview. Now Wisdom is the outflow of that worldview. Therefore, again – for your own sake – it is preferably the Wisdom that comes from God!
A perfect example is a man who just became the head of a favored organization and was set to undertake one of the most amazing projects in History. All he had to do was follow his beloved late father’s plans and execute. Being a very young man (he called himself a child), he needed guidance and in 1 Kings 3:5, God Himself appeared to Solomon in a vision and offered to give him ANYTHING he asked for!
PART 4

Webster’s dictionary describes AWE as an emotion variously combining dread, veneration, and wonder that is inspired by authority or by the sacred.Another dictionary defines awe as “a feeling of reverential respect mixed with fear or wonder”. In both cases, we see two things – the use of the words “feeling (or emotion)” and secondly – “sacred (or reverential)”.
Both definitions include the words “dread and fear” and both have the same word, wonder, at the end of their respective definition. So that does that mean to us? No one could have said it better than the great prophet Isaiah in Chapter 6 of his book..
