THE DAY OF THE LORD, THE MYSTERY OF INIQUITY
Sunday, November 25th, 2012
There is a phrase in the bible that appears to cause some confusion. The day of the Lord is a time of wrath, vengeance, and destruction. This is a terrible time for those left on earth. During this time some people are hidden. This is confusing if we don’t understand where the redeemed are. So many times people think the parousia (the coming of Jesus to punish Jerusalem) is for all people. It is not. The Lord redeems two distinct groups of people, one before the seals are opened and one after, as we saw last week.http://musingsofawinsomeheart.blogspot.com/2012/11/who-are-redeemed-and-are-we-seeing.html But the coming of the Lord is not a happy time. With the fighting in Israel currently escalating, some people may think the day of the Lord is at hand but the text reveals some clues on timing that are markers for our time line.

CAN UNBELIEVING PARENTS TEACH ABOUT JESUS?
Monday, September 10th, 2012PART 1 – THE FACTS

The Chicago Tribune ran a piece this morning in our local Faith section headlined “TEACHING KIDS ABOUT FAITH WHEN YOU DON’T PRACTICE ONE”! Now we can end this conversation right now with one word, which would finish the thought behind that headline – the word is “hypocrite”. But that is letting parents completely off the hook! While we know that most churches don’t teaching on hell, judgment or even the responsibility of EVERY human sitting in the pew, to Holy God, that does not lessen that said responsibility!
Incompetent and an increasingly disobedient church leadership is no excuse for parents being unable to account for the Spiritual Lives of their children. Every human being, ever born, will stand before Him on Judgment Day to give an account for our lives on this earth.
