The surprise hit movie of 2014 is not the coming big budget flop from Hollywood, NOAH, but the offering from some wonderful folks at PURE FLIX and actor Kevin Sorbo. Their sleeper hit ”GOD’S NOT DEAD” surprised the mainstream movie industry when it opened in only 780 screens across America on Friday March 21 and ended up at number 4 in the Box Office that weekend! The average Hollywood production launches in 3000 or more screens (just as a gauge).
What makes this movie the potential blockbuster not seen since 2004′s Passion of the Christ is quality production combined with inspired solid professional writing. The main story revolves around a freshman Christian student Josh Wheaton who finds himself in a Philosophy class run by the vitriolic atheist Professor Radisson (played by the popular actor Kevin Sorbo). Radisson begins his class by telling all 80 plus students that they must disavow God, write on a piece of paper that “GOD IS DEAD” and sign their name to it. Josh is a Christian and comes face to face with this Faith or what his cultural “christian” (and soon to be ex-) girlfriend calls “his future”.

Jesus Christ’s first foray into His public ministry is recorded in Luke 4:18-19 KJV where, in one short passage, He gives the entire purpose for this First Appearance on this earth! The Mission He was on, as decreed by  the Father in Heaven, is summed up in this one powerful statement:
“18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.”

Most bible-reading folks alive on the earth understand that Jesus was quoting directly from the Book of the great prophet Isaiah Chapter 61 and verses 1-2a! What most Christians….and everyone else, do not glum on to, is the reason He stopped halfway through verse 2 and put down the scroll of Isaiah!

This Bible teaching, in the video teaching from my PLUMBLINE TV show, explains it fully, but just briefly here is the reason and the explanation:
Isaiah 61:2A: “To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord,“ (FIRST COMING)
Isaiah 61:2B: “and the day of vengeance of our God (JUDGMENT IS COMING!)

“Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
“Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.  (Matthew 5:10-12, ESV)
When the terrorists in Syria recently charged the ancient Christian village of Maaloula in the Syrian mountainside where the minority Christians lived for almost 2000 years, do you think they felt blessed? According to eyewitnesses, the moslem terrorists told villagers “‘Either you convert to Islam or you will be beheaded,”. The village of Maaloula is one of the last on this earth which still spoke the ancient language of Aramaic. Aramaic was the language spoken by Jesus Himself and can only be found in Syria, in these last days.
What has been happening during the violent Syrian civil war has already been repeated in Iraq, with one million Chaldean Christians being persecuted, killed and displaced and in Iran and other middle eastern countries. Pakistan and India are catching up with their cousins in the middle east and doing the same to God’s people.
These are just some of the latest examples of what has been happening to followers of Jesus Christ since before He was even crucified in 33 AD in Jerusalem. Jesus warned of this and this warning has been fulfilled time after time after time for almost 2000 years now. Persecution is occurring in not just these Arab countries, but in almost every corner of this earth.

“Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat upon it, from whose presence earth and heaven fled away, and no place was found for them”...Revelation 20:11
The United States Supreme Court has been at the center of enforced erosion of the moral and spiritual center for decades now. From former Ku Klux Klan bigot-turned liberal Hugo Black to the current Justice Anthony Kennedy, there has been a wholesale removal of God from the public life – never mind the violation of the First Amendment rights of the average citizen. To men like Hugo Black and his “wall of separation of Church and state”, the religious liberties and rights of the ordinary citizen is meaningless when compared to their moral and intellectual self-righteousness and superiority.
The former KKK member/Supreme Court Judge Hugo Black, who hated Catholics as much as he hated God, wrote the majority opinion in 1947 in the case of Everson vs Board of Education which stopped the use of local public funds for the transport of children, via school buses, to local religious schools. It was not just the decision but the vitriol he aimed at the taxpayers, who now could not have their kids bused along with public school children.

Then in 1962, the same thorn in the side of God – Hugo Black, wrote the same kind of majority opinion in Engel vs Vitale Case when by a majority if 6-1 (which included Supreme Court justices like the Kennedys of that day – Earl Warren) threw God and prayer out of schools. Black’s majority opinion was just as contrived as that letter by Jefferson to the Danbury Baptists which started all this fake “Separation of church and state”  stuff.

One year later, the same Earl Warren Supreme Court removed the Bible from Schools. Fast forward to exactly 10 years later and in 1973, Justice Harry Blackmun, whose name will forever live in infamy (like Black), wrote the majority opinion on Roe vs Wade. We have had over 55 million American babies aborted since and counting. The premise of the right to an abortion was found in a made up thing which did not exist in the real constitution, i.e. “emanations from the penumbra”…..typical liberal-speak.

Sbible_thumpero, where I was – factoring things in light of current trends and events. Then I suddenly heard a disparaging word from someone, who said he was looking out for the folks – the folks like me, that the reason we are losing a certain debate is because we are “Bible Thumpers”! I thought he was looking out for me. But there was more to just this tip of the day. A few days later, one of his “yes men” told this highly opinionated Harvard Grad how he should answer those of us upset with him about the “Bible Thumping” comment.  The ex-CBS big shot, informed the factoring host to tell us – the folks, the Christian folks – to “screw them”! That’s right.

This got me thinking: why do they despise the Bible so much? If it were not for the Bible, the God of the Bible and the main theme of the Bible – Jesus Christ, western civilization would not exist. Therefore, I need to come up with my own declaration of Faith of WHY I am what they say I am – A Bible Thumper! There may be more added to this as time goes by, but here goes
I am a Bible Thumper  because the US Constitution (via the Magna Carta) is based on biblical principles of life and liberty.
I am a Bible Thumper because I have the freedom to own the small plot of land, the Lord gave me stewardship of temporarily, because that Constitution grants me property rights.
I am a Bible Thumper because the Freedom Christ died for to set others free, leaves me freedom of mobility; freedom of speech; freedom of association and freedom to think.
I am a Bible Thumper because we can freely elect and then vote out of office those wish to represent us – until they start representing themselves first.

But most of all, I am a Bible Thumper because…..
